Taxi Driver : The Movie

I saw the movie Taxi Driver yesterday, and again today morning. Since there has been a long time since the movie was released, I am sure there must have been hundreds of reviews so there is no point in having a review again. I'd just like to say my views about some things in the movie.
A funny thing before I start. Know what Robert Di Niro and Shammi Kapoor have in common. For both of them, I watched movies in which they are older first. This made it very difficult for me to picture them young, even when I was watching this movie. Di Niro is very young here (he plays a 26 year old guy) and still he seemed very mature to me. Not that he planned it that way, just that when I see that face, I see an old experienced man, not a young directionless taxi driver.
Also, I finally realised from where Mahesh Bhatt got the story idea for Sadak ;)
The movie is very slow, dull and dark. And the director makes no excuses for that, it is meant to be this way. It is meant to showcase bad times in a …

Hands Up!!!

This is again from The Canadian War Museum, a colt revolver. Looks very classic when viewed up close, the pic doesn't do it justice.

Bade dino ke baad...

Hitler's Car

I took a trip to The Canadian War Museum last weekend. Saw this car there, reflects raw power.
Good choice Mr Hitler!!!

Downtown Ottawa

went to downtown Ottawa this Sunday...did not roam around too much because we had to take off, but liked what I saw. Plan to go there all by myself over the next weekend so as to be able to spend some leisurely time strolling and window shopping (and maybe some actual shopping).

She's always a woman to me

She's Always A Woman
The Stranger Released: 1977

She can kill with a smile
She can wound with her eyes
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies
And she only reveals what she wants you to see
She hides like a child
But she's always a woman to me

She can lead you to live
She can take you or leave you
She can ask for the truth
But she'll never believe you
And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free
She steals like a thief
But she's always a woman to me

Oh, she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time
Oh, and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind

She will promise you more
Than the Garden of Eden
Then she'll carelessly cut you
And laugh while you're bleedin'
But she'll bring out the best
And the worst you can be
Blame it all on yourself
Cause she's always a woman to me

She is frequently kind
And she's suddenly cruel
She can do as she pleases
She's nobody's fool
But she can't be con…

Wanna play???

All of them have started shaving already (by the time this pic was taken)...all of them are now well placed in life (in that they have a good paying job and some sort of goals to look forward to).
But still, this pic told me that we were all basically kids...and I have a feeling that even today, given a chance, they would prefer the see-saw and merry-go-round over most other things in life...coz we are all basically kids till now.
You rock guys :)

For fans of Seinfeld...

here is one of his old routines. This goes way back to 1986.

My work place and my room generally spell chaos, but this is not too bad is it??

Life in the fast lane

For our trip to Kingston last weekend we'd rented a Mitsubishi Gallant and I was the only one authorised to drive in Canada :)
Had a great time driving, the highways here rock!!! Just have a look at the speed indicator (and these are my hands BTW).
